About
Louise
Hi, I'm Louise.
I'm a frontend developer based in London — over ten years in the industry, which is simultaneously impressive and slightly alarming. By night I'm attempting to become an indie game developer, which is going about as smoothly as you'd expect.
I grew up loving games — quietly, on my own, because in the 90s girls weren't really supposed to. I loved them anyway. The problem solving, the worlds, the feeling of making progress at something. That never left me, even when life went in very different directions. (I did a choreography degree, which while not usefulit does mean I am great on the dancefloor.)
I've been learning Unity for about four years now. I've done too many courses, survived some game jams, and spent more evenings than I'd like to admit trying to code after a full day of already coding.
Life Stuff
When I'm not at a screen I'm usually dancing, catching a gig or comedy night somewhere in London, or hunting down a good vegan meal or an fancy cocktail bar. I'm a sucker for old films — I even go to a film trash club, which is exactly what it sounds like and I highly recommend it.
I have two dogs. They are old. They are cute. They require a lot of attention, which I love, and a lot of vet visits, which I do not.
The Work Bit
By day I specialise in React, TypeScript. With a lots of experience in data science and can make a dashboard with my eyes closed.
I like making things. Always have. That's really what all of this comes down to.
